MaldivesTours, Activities & Travel Guide
The Maldives is an Indian Ocean island nation of around 1,200 coral islands spread across 26 atolls, famous for white-sand beaches, clear lagoons and some of the world's best snorkelling and diving. Veraag's Maldives holiday packages cover honeymoons, family holidays and group trips, with stays that range from luxury overwater villas to affordable local island guesthouses.
Best things to do in the Maldives
- Snorkelling and diving: Swim over coral reefs with turtles, rays and reef sharks.
- Whale sharks and manta rays: South Ari Atoll is known for whale shark sightings, and Hanifaru Bay in Baa Atoll is famous for seasonal manta ray gatherings.
- Overwater villa stays: Enjoy private lagoon access and sunset views from your villa.
- Sandbank and island-hopping trips: Spend a day on quiet sandbanks and nearby islands.
- Sunset dolphin cruises and water sports: Try kayaking, paddleboarding and sunset cruises.
Resort or local island?
Private resorts offer full-service luxury, one island per resort and alcohol. Local islands such as Maafushi offer lower prices and cultural experiences, with modest dress expected away from the beach and no alcohol.
Best time to visit the Maldives
November to April is the dry season, with sunny skies and calm seas. May to October brings more rain and wind, but also lower prices.
How many days do you need?
Four to five nights suit a short break, while six to seven nights allow island-hopping and more excursions.
