Menorca

MenorcaTours, Activities & Travel Guide

Menorca is the quieter, greener sister of Mallorca and Ibiza, and one of the best places in the Balearic Islands for a slow, nature-led holiday. The whole island is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, which is why its coastline still feels unspoiled, with pine-backed coves, clear turquoise water and traditional whitewashed villages.

Top things to do in Menorca: Spend beach days at Cala Macarella, Cala Turqueta and Cala Mitjana. Walk or cycle sections of the Camí de Cavalls, the 185 km coastal trail that circles the island. Explore the old harbour town of Ciutadella and the capital, Maó (Mahón), and climb Monte Toro for island views. History lovers can visit the prehistoric Talayotic sites, including Naveta d'en Tudons and Torre d'en Galmés.

What to eat: Try caldereta de langosta (lobster stew), Mahón cheese and local gin.

Best time to visit Menorca: May, June and September offer warm sea, sunshine and fewer crowds. July and August are the hottest and busiest months.

How many days do you need? Four to five days let you cover beaches, towns and one coastal walk without rushing.

Getting there and around: Menorca Airport (Mahón) has seasonal direct flights from many European cities, and ferries run from Mallorca and Barcelona. A rental car is the easiest way to reach the best coves.

Travelling from India? A Schengen visa is required. With Veraag, you can build a Menorca trip around beaches, culture and relaxed island living, alone or as part of a wider Spain itinerary.
